Anne Sprentz: Szetlowicz from Minaj

My great-grandmother, Maria Helen Szetlowicz was born in Minaj, Ung Megye, Hungary in 1889. She came to the US in 1906, to Dayton, Oh. Ellis Island manifest says she was coming to meet her step father Pal Barabas in Dayton.

She married a Mihaly Princz/Sprencz in Dayton and had one son, John B Sprentz. She abandoned husband and son, and was reportedly in Detroit.

The village of Minaj is a bit South-West of city of Ungvar.

The present Minaj and Uzgorod are in Ukraine and only 5.5 km from each other.

The name BARABAS and BARABAS' lists in Slovak Republic but nothing in the area code that is bordering Ukraine.
